Galen Snow
Painter
Originally from Seattle, being outdoors is key to Galen’s happiness, thus, her settling in Little Compton after living on the North Shore of Boston was a natural transition. People often ask her how long she’s been an artist and she’ll answer: forever, because she’s “always been one on the inside”.
Professionally, she spent 45 years in the restaurant/service industry which was a great living and eventually a means to her true focus: becoming a better artist. In order to improve her skills, she enrolled in the Continuing Ed program at Rhode Island School of Design. Graduating in 2010 with a Painting and Drawing Certificate was the biggest step in committing to her future as a successful artist.
When I gratefully let in the beauty of each day – watching the hawks soar, noticing the ripples of light on a wave or a flowers’ grace nodding in the wind, I find peace there, in the moment, and the inner energy that keeps moving me forward in my craft.
